First egg for Nest 1A

An earlier post commented that it would be difficult to see eggs on Nest 1A because the front edge of the nest has been added to and the cup scraped deeper every day. However from behaviour we believe there is an egg!

Shortly before noon Mrs YA entered the nest cup and fidgeted about.

Soon after noon she sat down. Press HD for best quality.

YA hopped onto the nest to oversee events.

Here’s a video of the last five minutes of – unfortunately – a hidden egg being laid. You can see Mrs YA pushing from 12.09. When YA goes to look into the cup at 12.11 his talons are curled, a sure sign there is an egg to be careful around.
