37 and EB’s day

Both ospreys worked on getting their nest into just the right condition.

Both were also rather clumsy at times. 37’s turn in this video. Press HD for best quality.

After 20 minutes EB brought the trout back and over the next hour or so the pair took it in turns to eat. Last year EB was rather more reluctant to share. But some things don’t change and like last year she was still not keen when 37 tried to mate, with most attempts unsuccessful.

the only possible success, but unlkely

There’ll be a post later about life on Nest 1A.

Oh dear, what a sad story! Is 37 a young bird? I remember it took Aran at Glaslyn awhile to remember which end was the functioning end. Maybe some soft furnishings in the nest cup will win him a ‘smile’

Yellow 37 was the first osprey to fledge from Glaslyn Cirrus. That was in 2005 and he has plenty of experience as he has bred at Kielder since 2011.
