First fledge!

After a false start from a human perspective when Y1 appeared to have fledged just before 10.00, but actually landed on the camera, he had a faultless looking first flight at 12.15.

His three siblings watched him flying around the Nest 1A area before he landed back on the nest at 12.17.  His maiden flight lasted just short of 2 minutes.

He made another flight a few minutes later and one of the adults could be seen flying with him. Y1 is 54 days old today, a day younger than sister Y0 who had stood on the edge “thinking about it”.
