UV’s first Spring migration

At the start of this week Nest 1 hatched Blue UV visited Kielder for the first time since he flew south on 2 September 2014. He undertook a truly incredible migration from Northern Senegal, covering over 10,000 km as he took a circuitous route across Africa and explored Spain.

This animation by Paul which took roughly 60 hours to create, shows in about 60 seconds a journey that took UV 60 days, albeit including some R&R en route. It really brings home UV’s powers of endurance.

Many thanks to Paul for all the work that went into creating the animation.
