First Kielder egg for White EB

When the nestcam stream began today White EB was lying in the nest cup. She’s done that before occasionally but not much yesterday. Was it significant? Yes, when she stood up there was an egg!

An intruder has been around all morning. 37 was defending his nest at first but found time to stay for a few minutes.

He was soon called away.

White EB continued incubating. However the intruder returned, flying low over the nest and White EB took off after it. She was away from the egg for about twenty minutes but is back incubating at the time of writing, 11.25.

The egg didn’t look newly laid. There have been a lot of early hours eggs at public nests this year, egg 1 is probably another!
