VY returns to the Casamance River!

Tonight we received a partial data download from VY’s tracker. She has returned to the Casamance River though a little way upriver from her previous location.

She arrived back there yesterday. She appears to have explored the islands and coast of Guinea Bissau since Saturday, but there is missing data for a couple of days so we don’t have the whole picture yet. This image starts in Guinea Bissau early on 28 September and ends with the last position today at 17.43 UTC. She’s travelled 390 km since 26 September plus whatever the missing data may add.

There’ll be more tomorrow but for the moment it is just so good to hear from VY again!

Glad she’s back in range of a mast again.
