A diligent dad on Nest 3

Recently downloaded footage from Nest 3 contained several clips where the male was feeding his offspring.

The female was still in the area and the chicks can feed themselves. Neither YA nor 37 have been observed feeding their young recently although that may change if the females leave soon, which is the norm.

Several times intruders caused alarm calling and mantling on Nest 3 but none landed or came really close to the nest during the recording spells.

The nest is empty for long periods but at least one osprey is usually around the area. The last image is the last time the family were recorded on the nest together, although they were all around the nest area last Sunday during field observations.

Wonderful. So many dads seem to do that. It’s great to see. The male really cares about his offspring. The first look at the first egg ! The first incubation sesson ! Dad really bonds with his young. Thank you so much for the photos.
