VP update – phew!

Just before Kielder Castle Café closed three ospreys were on or near Nest 1 and a fourth was flying.

As Amy locked up she saw three ospreys in trees near the nest and one on the nestcam pole. So the flying osprey seen earlier was not an intruding osprey and presumably one of the four is a hungry VP!

Many thanks to Amy for her report.

Here’s a pre-fledge image of VP!

Fledging is such an exciting time but nail biting too as it’s so perilous. Great to know she’s safe and well. A huge relief for you all, I’m sure.

It is, Karen Elizabeth. Usually the fledglings at Kielder don’t keep us on tenterhooks for so long!

  2. Phew indeed. I hope VP managed to get a meal later.

What a beauty – you lovely bird
