VY fledges!

Yesterday evening VY indulged in some serious helicoptering shortly before 19.00.
VP looked surprised.

The last view before streaming ceased last night was VY replacing that energy!

This morning she had fledged before 08.58.  She was probably just into her 54th day and the average fledge is at 53 days. But given her lack of helicoptering experience it was an anxious time. At the time of writing she has still not returned to the nest, but at around midday four ospreys were visible on the nest (one, VP, alone there all morning) and in the trees so one must be VY. Probably the one part way along a conifer branch!

All the other Nest 1 and 2 juveniles have been helicoptering, although it has started raining harder so one fledge may be it today!

Such a happy time. May their longest flight be crisis free and fair weather and all the correct directional winds
