Nest 1 streams again!

Yesterday afternoon Forestry Commission Radio and Electronics Branch were able to fix the Nest 1 camera problem and streaming has resumed. Many thanks!

The most noticeable difference in the two chicks over the week is their ability to eat morsels of fish – and more – without adult assistance. This video shows VP swallowing a fish tail whole. VY looks on with interest.

The feathers are much more fully out of their sheaths.

The parents are mainly off the nest now in nearby trees or on the nestcam pole. There hasn’t been much wing flapping but there is certainly room if the youngsters feel like exercise. Mostly they are dozing, preening and eating. YA delivered a new fish once two tail ends had been finished off today.

Both chicks took nibbles but Mrs YA came in late afternoon and fed them.
