News from Nest 3 – and images from the other two

A visit to Nest 3 today revealed there are now two healthy looking chicks. We know the first hatched between late afternoon on 29 May and 08.00 on 30 May. The second chick looks a fair bit smaller.

As you can see there is also an unhatched egg. All three nests have one now; for Kielder these are the first to our knowledge to not hatch. This afternoon between short showers the chicks tucked in again.

On Nest 2 the remaining two chicks also fed well today. This was their first observed meal.

And saving the tubbies for last, over on Nest 1 at the same time…
