A bit flaky!

After a lovely few days last week it has been back to winter at times at Kielder in the past few days. Yesterday some heavy snow showers covered both nests at times, especially Nest 1 in the afternoon.

YA had been incubating for over an hour when Mrs YA landed for her stint; off he flew.

A few minutes later she must have regretted coming back onto the nest because an intense snow storm began.

Within minutes Mrs YA was quite hard to see. She shook her head a few times then started to try and catch snowflakes, as the video shows!

A couple of showers later all the snow had gone and YA brought a reward for Mrs YA’s diligence.
