Third egg for Nest 2 – in the rain

After a lovely week of sun and warmth the weather started to change on Friday, turning cooler and cloudy. By daybreak on Saturday it was raining. When the streaming from the cameras began two bedraggled females were crouched low over their eggs.

But third eggs don’t wait for sunshine and at 09.58 Mrs 37 stood, fidgeted and changed position. She crouched with her back to the nestcam. By 10.04 she was rocking and pushing… at 10.06 there was a final push and she tilted forward…

…and then she stood to give us our first glimpse.

There was a clearer sight of all the eggs at 10.50 when she turned them.
