Nest 3 resident pair are back! A full house at Kielder

A check on Nest 3 this morning revealed an osprey sitting in a favourite tree of last year’s male and a female on the nest. Within a few minutes the male flew across to the nest and the pair copulated. Our unringed pair are back!

This year there is a limited video recording facility for Nest 3. Due to ‘technical issues’ (incompetence by me) the stored files couldn’t be accessed but here are a couple of stills from this morning. Hopefully a clearer idea of arrival times will be possible soon.

We are very fortunate to have all three pairs back safe at Kielder. Let’s hope that augurs well for the season ahead.
