Nest 2 Update

The Forestry Commission Radio Branch heroes arrived at Kielder on Wednesday and we had the first views of Nest 2 since Monday when there was a brief glimpse. The stream wasn’t stable enough for video, more work will be done on Thursday, but the three chicks were clearly visible and how they have grown!

However, there wasn’t a lot of action – the afternoon was spent snoozing at one side of the nest with Mrs 37 behind them. One of the chicks was squashed low between the others. Despite the lack of bouncing etc, it was great to see them again and to find that they are doing so well. Here are a few images.

  1. First time I’ve been able to look in this week. My, how those chicks have grown! D’you think the parent ospreys will fish Kielder dry?

It’s just as well Kielder is stocked every Thursday, Viv!
