No great advances on Wednesday at Kielder. It was wet and windy in the morning, but the afternoon was mild, sunny and fairly calm. On Nest 1 visibility was very poor in the morning but the dark headed female was on the far side for part of the time. YA was more in view in the afternoon, squawking and moving around adjusting the moss. There was one possible visit by the 2012 female, but it was very difficult to make out identifying features.

On Nest 2 our valiant nestbuilder 37 got going on some restoration after last week’s storm damage. He brought in several sticks which he arranged artfully along the lowest parts of the nest. When Mrs 37 landed on the nest he sought, and got, a reward for being diligent. So despite hopes that there may be an egg today, no joy. It is now a fortnight since acquaintance was renewed, so eggs should be imminent.
