Good news about Nest 2

The nestcam on Nest 2 has sprung back into stuttery life, a relief given really torrential rain again yesterday.

The chicks look well and spent a lot of time today preening – getting that waterproof coat on their feathers – and snoozing in warm sunshine. They must have wondered what that disc in the sky was, so infrequently has it appeared in their lives.

The photo below shows the family together as a fish was delivered: you can see from the chick standing next to its mother on the right that the chicks are about 75% of adult size. Also, at times they stand up properly, rather than sit on their haunches.

The chicks fed for some minutes then they sat to one side so mum could feed herself. But as you can see from the photo below, the chick on the right started to be interested again and she fed him/her very shortly after this photo was taken.
