I was one of two lucky Ospreywatch volunteers to be watching the live footage at Kielder Castle when the female osprey stood up to reveal her third chick trying to shrug off that pesky egg on his back! His/her siblings watched his struggles too. A fantastic sight to witness.
Thanks for the details! I wonder if ospreys are subject to sibling rivalry like in human families!
